What is SEO, in one answer?
SEO is the work of making your pages the result when someone searches — titles, structure, links, and pages that deserve the click. In Canada that also means being the citation when ChatGPT or Google AI Overviews answer without ten blue links. We do both. Rankings first, extractable answers beside them.
If the page cannot be quoted in 50 words, the answer engines will quote someone else.
How is AEO different from SEO?
AEO — Answer Engine Optimization — is SEO aimed at machines that answer: ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, AI Overviews. The page still has to rank, but it also has to state the answer in plain HTML. We write the direct answer first, then the proof. That is the whole difference.
GEO is the same family: being visible in generative results, not just the classic SERP.
How long does SEO take?
Technical cleanup can move in weeks. Competitive Canadian terms usually take a quarter or more. We set leading indicators — indexation, query coverage, citations — so you are not staring at one ranking like a slot machine. Anyone promising page-one by Friday is selling a story.
We will show you the sequence. Dates without a sequence are theatre.
Do we need to be in a big city for SEO to work?
No. Intent exists in every market we publish a city page for. What changes is competition and language — Ottawa is not Kelowna. We write the local brief. Nationwide does not mean one page with the city name swapped.
See /locations. Each URL has its own neighbourhoods and industries.
SEO or Google Ads first?
Ads if you need pipeline this month. SEO if you want the term after the card expires. Most Canadian firms need both, sequenced, not a religion. We run them in the same studio so the query map does not fork.
A weak landing page ruins both. That is usually the first conversation.
